9 Days Safari Vacation in Tanzania
Tarangire National Park – 3 Days Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara National Park – Zanzibar.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN TANZANIA.
You will arrive in Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International Airport or another airport of your choice. After clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by a representative from your safari operator who will transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha, a bustling city situated at the foot of Mount Meru.
Depending on your arrival time, you may have some free time to explore Arusha, a vibrant and colorful city that offers a glimpse into everyday Tanzanian life. You can visit local markets, cafes, and shops, or simply relax and adjust to the time zone at your hotel.
Your safari operator will also brief you on your itinerary and answer any questions you may have about your upcoming adventure. You’ll have time to rest and prepare for your safari adventure, which begins the next day
DAY 2: FULL GAME DRIVE IN TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park. The park is located about two hours’ drive southwest of Arusha and is known for its large herds of elephants, baobab trees, and diverse birdlife.
Once you arrive at the park, you will embark on a full-day game drive, exploring the vast savannah plains and woodland areas. You’ll have the chance to spot a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and many other species.
In the late afternoon, you’ll exit the park and transfer to your accommodation in or near Tarangire National Park, where you can relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery.
About Tarangire National Park:
Tarangire National Park is located in northern Tanzania and is named after the Tarangire River that flows through the park. It is the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania and covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers.
The park is known for its large elephant herds, baobab trees, and diverse birdlife, with over 500 species recorded in the park. Other wildlife commonly seen in the park include lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and many others.
Tarangire National Park is also home to the Maasai people, who have lived in the area for hundreds of years and still practice their traditional way of life.
DAY 3 – 5: FULL GAME DRIVE IN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast at your accommodation in or near Tarangire National Park, you will depart for Serengeti National Park, which is approximately a 4-5 hour drive away. The drive will take you through scenic landscapes and rural villages as you make your way toward the heart of Tanzania’s famous wildlife sanctuary.
As you enter the Serengeti, you’ll begin your first game drive in the park, taking in the wide-open plains and the abundance of wildlife that makes this park so famous. The Serengeti is home to some of the largest populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other predators, and you’ll have a chance to see them in their natural habitat.
On Days 4 and 5, you’ll have two full days to explore the vast expanse of the Serengeti National Park. You’ll embark on a game drive after breakfast, exploring different areas of the park and searching for the “big five” (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) and other wildlife. You’ll have a picnic lunch in the park and continue your game drive in the afternoon, returning to your accommodation in the evening.
The Serengeti is one of the most famous wildlife reserves in the world, covering an area of approximately 14,750 square kilometers. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including over 70 large mammal species and over 500 bird species. The park is most famous for its annual wildebeest migration, which is one of the most spectacular wildlife events on the planet.
DAY 6: TRANSFER GAME DRIVE TO NGORONGORO CRATER.
On Day 6, you will transfer from the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive can take a few hours depending on the route and stops along the way. Along the journey, you can expect to see some of Tanzania’s beautiful scenery and possibly spot some wildlife. Once you arrive at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will have lunch before heading to your accommodation for the night.
There are several accommodation options within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, including lodges and tented camps. You will have dinner at your accommodation and can spend the evening relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

You will have the opportunity to take a guided safari tour of the crater, where you can spot various animals such as lions, elephants, hyenas, and many others. Your guide will be knowledgeable about the area and will provide you with interesting facts about the wildlife.
You will also have the chance to enjoy a picnic lunch within the crater, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. After the full day of exploring, you will be driven to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 7: HALF-GAME DRIVE IN LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK.
The following day, you will have a half-day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The park is located at the base of the Great Rift Valley and is known for its diverse birdlife, tree-climbing lions, and large troops of baboons. In addition to lions, you can expect to see elephants, giraffes, hippos, and buffalo during your game drive.

After arriving in Zanzibar, you will be met by a driver who will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel for relaxation. Zanzibar is a beautiful island off the coast of Tanzania, known for its pristine beaches, rich history, and diverse culture. The island offers a variety of activities for visitors, including snorkeling and diving, visiting historical sites such as Stone Town, and exploring the island’s spice farms. After a long day of travel, you can relax at your hotel and prepare for the adventures to come
DAY 8: OWN ACTIVITY IN ZANZIBAR.
There are many activities to do in Zanzibar, here are some popular ones:
Visit Stone Town: This historic town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to many cultural and historical landmarks, including the Palace Museum and the House of Wonders.
Snorkeling and diving: Zanzibar is home to some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world, making it an excellent destination for snorkeling and diving.
Visit the Spice Farms: Zanzibar is known as the Spice Island, and visiting one of the spice farms on the island is a great way to learn about the history and culture of the island and its spices.
Relax on the Beach: Zanzibar is known for its stunning beaches, and spending time relaxing on the sand and swimming in the warm Indian Ocean is a must- do activity.
Take a Boat Tour: There are many boat tours available in Zanzibar, which allow visitors to explore the island from the water, spot dolphins, and even go on a sunset cruise.

DAY 9: DEPARTURE.
